Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative and sister cooperatives across the state and nation strive to positively impact the legislative and regulatory processes that affect cooperatives, their members and employees by continually monitoring governmental activities at the federal, state and local levels. We do this to ensure that co-op members and their communities continue to receive affordable and reliable electricity.
We also encourage our members to stay informed on energy issues and to make their voices heard. It is vitally important to urge your elected officials to keep electricity affordable through a balanced national energy policy. As a co-op member, you do have a voice.
America needs a balanced and sustainable long-term energy policy. Electric cooperatives from the Great Plains to the East Coast have joined together to help educate consumers and elected officials about the effects of climate change legislation and the development of an energy policy. Voice your support for a balanced solution to our energy needs – one that produces real environmental results without further harming our economy.

If Americans want to keep electricity safe, reliable and affordable, Congress and America's electric cooperatives must work together. Start a dialogue with your elected officials today!
