Public Presentations
Part of our mission at CCEC is to keep our members and the public educated and up to date. It is our commitment to you and is just one of the Touchstone Energy® values we embrace.
One of the ways we honor that commitment is through public presentations – at schools, for civic organizations and clubs and church groups, at festivals and fairs, with local government officials and more.
We provide a variety of presentations and demonstrations, including…
- Energy Efficiency and Conservation
- Renewable Energy Options
- Electrical Safety
- Storm Preparation and Safety
- The Cooperative Business Model
- The Cooperative History
…and more.
Groups also are invited to tour our office on Highway 24 in Newport, where they can learn more about the electric cooperative as well get a view of our restored wetlands project. The vegetation surrounding the Highway 24 property is part of a restored, manmade wetland that helps filter and clean runoff in Jumping Run Creek, which drains into major shellfish waters within Bogue Sound. The restoration project serves as a natural classroom where school groups can come and study the flora and fauna associated with a wetland area, as well as learn more about the environmental benefits of wetlands.
To schedule a tour or a demonstration, contact Director of Community Relations Bill Ward at 1.800.682.2217 or 252.727.2251 or by sending an email to: billw@ccemc.com. He can tailor a presentation to meet your specific needs.
